WELCOME TO THE 4TH ANNUAL POPS IN THE PARK concert in Waveny Park, New Canaan, featuring the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra!
June 8, 2025 at 6:00pm (rain date June 15, 2025).
The New Canaan Pops in the Park Committee is pleased to share a beautiful evening of orchestral music with all of you — our very special guests. This year, we're excited to feature “Rule Britannia!” as our theme for the evening, with an emphasis on British themed music (e.g., Elgar, Gilbert & Sullivan, Mary Poppins, James Bond and the like). Inspired by the Boston Pops concerts on Cape Cod and Nantucket and the NY Philharmonic’s summer concerts in Central Park, this family-friendly evening is one that is sure to delight audiences of all ages. Please join us on Waveny Great Lawn with your blankets and picnic baskets for a summer evening of lively British music!
Tickets are free, though we encourage a $5 per ticket donation to help support our concert. Concertgoers must reserve tickets through this Eventcube site as we are limited to 1800 attendees. Your donations will support this year's concert and our annual Pops concerts going forward!
Frequently asked questions
Where can I park? PLEASE respect all "No Parking" areas, including those marked off with specific signage. Your cooperation will help to ensure future concerts! Parking is also available at New Canaan High School. Very limited handicap parking (or drop off) in the West side parking lot of Waveny House.
Will food be available? No food vendors will be on site. Please bring your own picnic to enjoy. Please "LEAVE NO TRACE" and dispose of any trash in the provided receptacles. This will also help us to clean up when the event is over. Thank you!
Will there be bathrooms? Yes. Port-a-Johns and handwashing stations will be available in the West side parking lot to the right of Waveny House (if you are looking at the front of the house from the driveway).
Is this event free? Tickets are free, though we encourage a $5 per ticket donation to help support our concert. Concertgoers must reserve tickets through Eventcube as we are limited to 1800 attendees. Your donations will support this year's concert and our annual Pops concerts going forward!
What time should I arrive? Come any time before the event begins (6:00pm) to enjoy the park and your picnic!
What happens if the weather is unfavorable? Our rain date is June 15th. We will update our Facebook page and email you after 12:00 noon on June 8th if the plans change due to weather.
What else do I need to know? Safety first - there is a pond on the grounds of the park that may invite curious younger guests. We urge parents to always know where young children are playing and keep an eye out so that no one wanders down the hill to the pond. Thank you in advance for your diligence in keeping everyone safe!
Any last details? PROGRAMS! We request you take one per family. We also have a special gift for the kids, which they can use when Maestro Jonathan Yates leads them in a Conducting Lesson. Then they will be the conductors! Please get these items as you walk past the house and toward the lawn from our Greeters!
